Selecting Your Business Broker
Pricing your business and selecting a broker are the two most important things an owner will have to do, in preparing to sell their business.
I’ve been a business broker in Florida for nearly 20 years. Working with the trusted brokerage firm Legacy Venture Group, I help my clients navigate the process of buying or selling businesses. Based in the Tampa Bay area, I assist with transactions throughout Florida—from Jacksonville to Key West.
My background uniquely qualifies me to assist you in your business acquisition journey.
- I have spent 50 years in professional sales, starting with extensive training at IBM after graduating from Virginia Tech in 1970. Over a decade, I successfully sold million-dollar computer systems to the Federal government and eventually became Federal Sales Manager, leading a team of 15.
- In 1986, I moved to Florida to start a business. When my partner and I couldn’t agree on a plan, I sought help from a business broker to acquire my first manufacturing business, securing a sole-source contract with Walt Disney World in my first year.
- Having bought, managed, and sold three successful businesses in Florida, I understand the buying process from both perspectives. This experience allows me to guide buyers safely and effectively through buying a good business.
Transitioning from business owner to broker was natural, as who better to help someone buy a business than a seasoned salesman with firsthand experience?
